Measured once, woven once, cut once.

A made-to-measure piece starts with the cloth rather than the pattern. You are shown what is on the looms and what is finishing, you pick a length, and the garment is cut to that length rather than the other way round.

Measuring takes about forty minutes at Tanoti House on Jalan Tabuan. If you are not in Kuching we do it over video with a tape and a second pair of hands, then confirm at the first fitting.

From the appointment to the finished piece is six to twelve weeks, depending on whether the cloth already exists. Songket woven to order is always at the far end of that.
